This coating can either be applied to protect an existing floor to make the surface smooth or create a brilliant shine reflecting the garage floor’s light. The use of the floor coating is also less likely to attract dirt or dust compared to floors that don’t use any epoxy coating. The coatings can be metallic looking to fit in well with garage floor settings or more advanced decorative coatings to add more complexity on the floor, or flake to add some beautiful shine.
Before installing the garage floor epoxy, we make sure anything that would take up space in the garage, from the cars stored inside to the tables or chairs that are used for vehicular repairs, are removed from the floor to reach around the surface area as much as possible. Next, we clean the floor so it can then be sanded to better accept the epoxy floor coatings, much like how sanding other materials should help accept ordinary paint. We will remove any possible oil stains will be removed up next, even ones that are hard to take off. Any small nicks will have to be fixed slightly or entirely polished to avoid anything that might make the new epoxy floor coating look uneven.
This will usually take a day or more to make the floor leveled, especially in a much larger environment. Once the surface area is ready to take any epoxy garage floor paint, it’s now time to apply the primer application. This is usually done hours before the garage floor epoxy paint is added. We use more extensive painting tools to spread the floor’s massive space, similar to when we work on gyms and with more extensive warehouse floors that rely on the same type of garage floor epoxy system. A thin layer of water is used before the epoxy floor coating is spread across the floor. The final thing to do is adding the epoxy garage floor finisher to make the floor look perfectly polished and ready for cars.
